Did you know that there are waterfalls in the North Cyprus? I believe that the answer of the majority of you would be No. Actually, we have waterfalls, even though they are very small.

According to the research I have made, there are waterfalls in the Malatya-Ilgaz-İncesu in the Kyrenia region, village of Kayalar, village of Tatlısu (Akatou) and the village of Serhatköy (Filya). Also, Mustafa Özilmen, who is a nature lover studying MS Political Geography at the Marmara University in Istanbul, rediscovered the waterfall in the village of Karşıyaka around the hiking trail of Ahlat vadisi and named this natural miracle “The Waterfall with Seven Eyes”

These waterfalls that are only active for a couple of months per year or not active at all depending on the amount of precipitation are among the most beautiful offerings of the nature.

We can define the exciting fall of the moving water from a height as a waterfall. Virtual richness and difference created by this excitement always attracts the attention of people. This charismatic banquet of the nature resembles a rhytmic dance that one cannot stop wathcing...

It should be a touristic attraction

In the world, specially in the countries in which tourism is significant, natura waterfalls are regarded as points of attraction. Even though the waterfalls in the North Cyprus are all small, they are impressive and worthy to visit.

My wish is that the natural waterfalls in the North Cyprus are regarded as magnificent natural assests and are brought in tourism after necessary environmental arrangements are made.
